This morning (December 27, 2011) I prayed let me help someone today that needs it and on my way to work I picked up a hitchhiker coming from Manasquan Court.
The guy (Richard) has a restraining order against him and had a business for 20 yrs and now is on skid row.
He now lives in a motel in Belmar where I gladly gave him a ride and words of encouragement along the way.
He had the worst Christmas of his life. His 4 kids do not want to see him because of the destruction he caused drinking a half of bottle of vodka everyday.
He has been off the bottle for 50 days now and walks to a local AA meeting three times a week.
Was this guy lucky to have someone with a semi similar background minus the booze and lack of communication with kids or did Jesus orchestrate this perfectly?
U know the answer to that rhetorical question?
I write this in my journal as I am grateful to see how the Lord works and answers prayers when we are obedient and trust him fully.
I share this with you so u can see how God works as a source of encouragement and to request that you pray for Richard.
He does things like this on a daily basis in my life. God always answers prayer when you put Him first.
I who have been known to be unorganized just happened to have my ministry bookbag with me and I gave him my probation flier as he left my car and I took his phone number.
A few years ago I would have criticized this person and wrote him off as a bum. Thank you Jesus for teaching me not to judge someone that has received hard luck and instead of criticizing, you allowed me to understand him and help him.
I pray for continued love in my heart and I thank Jesus for the people in my life as I count my blessings and you are one of them.
Please pray for Richard today and that he finds the true source of life and gets saved. Pray that he finds Jesus and sees him as the light of his lantern.
God reveals His will to us one step at a time and He guides us for His purpose when we ask Him to.
He doesn’t give us the second step until we complete the first step.
What step is He asking you to take today? If you do not know, ask Him, trust Him and listen.
HE will show you.
Good luck on your Journey Tim. Keep the faith.
Thanks Kevin. I appreciate it.
